Learn to use LabTrack

The easiest way to learn how to use LabTrack is through learning by doing. Download a filmclip showing swimming unicellular micoorganism (culture of the dinoflagellate Gymnodinium dominans, 11 Mb). Open the video clip in LabTrack by clicking on the green button. Recomended settings for LabTrack are shown below.

Adjust the settings. Select the resolution in the size popup menu, in this case "Full"

Per default light objects are tracked against a dark background. Invert  if objects are dark against a light background.

Set threshold and Edge detection until the cells are clearly defined.

Test the settings by playing the the video. Choose a color palette for viewing the video, here the video is shown in Rainbow palette.

Open the Tracking tab, and adjust the settings. In this example the minimum length of tracks was adjusted to 10.
